[Ended] Salmon Box and ARAMAKI Exhibition

[Ended] Salmon Box and ARAMAKI Exhibition

To be held from Friday, November 1, 2024 to Monday, November 11, 2024.

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM The ARAMAKI project is unique and attractive because it sees potential in wooden boxes that have finished their job of transporting fresh salmon and proposes a new perspective on manufacturing. This exhibition, held at two venues – the "unga plus gallery" in the "Former Otaru Warehouse" built by the owner of a Kitamae-bune ship from Iroutani, Otaru City, and the "Otaru City Museum (Unkokan)" – focuses on the "salmon box," a wooden box used for transporting fresh salmon, a traditional preserved food from the north. It explores the evolution of food culture and transportation methods that have been passed down to the present, and delves into the appeal of the industries that have been created by salmon. During the event, some of the ARAMAKI products sold at the venue will also be available for a limited time at the UNGA↑ online shop. You can view ARAMAKI products here . In addition, we are planning a talk event about salmon at the "Otaru City General Museum Canal Hall," which is next to UNGA↑. Please be sure to visit the museum as well.
