5:00 PM - 7:00 PM We will be holding the event "Drinking Otaru, With Otaru," which was planned by graduate students from Hokkaido University. Otaru is known for its urban development centered around history and cultural heritage, and is also known as a city where literature is born. The title of "Otaru, the City Called the 'Heart' of Hokkaido," recently certified as a Japanese Heritage site by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, is derived from a passage written by the novelist Takiji Kobayashi, who spent time in Otaru. Focusing on the history of Otaru, and taking place at the "Former Otaru Warehouse," which began as the first commercial warehouse in Hokkaido, you can enjoy a talk with "Tanaka Sake Brewery," the only sake brewery operating in Otaru, and a sake tasting session. Please come and experience the charm of Otaru together with the graduate students.
