Yusuke Saito

I create porcelain works that utilize the natural texture of the porcelain clay itself, such as unglazed, fired white porcelain, and crystalline glaze works with a sparkling, fine sheen. I discovered pottery in vocational school, and after graduating, I learned the basics of pottery, including wood-fired kiln firing, under the tutelage of a potter in Sapporo. After that, he moved to Gifu Prefecture and worked as an assistant for ceramic artists and sculptors who mainly used porcelain clay. Currently, he has returned to his hometown of Otaru and continues to create ceramics. He mainly presents his works at solo and group exhibitions in department stores and galleries.
