Hiroaki Shimizu

A woodworker with a workshop in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Primarily working with solid wood, their creations include furniture such as tables, chairs, and stools, as well as tableware. In addition to custom orders, they engage in a wide range of creative activities, including the production of bear sculptures and snow sculptures using Hokkaido-sourced wood. With a deep appreciation for the qualities of "wood," a living material, I strive to create products that you will cherish, using wood that has been nurtured over a long period of time. Primarily exhibited at department stores and galleries both inside and outside the region.
