These blue-and-white plates with Ainu motifs were created in collaboration with the Lake Akan Ainu Consulting Group, which promotes manufacturing with a modern sensibility while respecting Ainu traditions at Lake Akan in Akan-Mashu National Park in eastern Hokkaido, and the Arita ware kiln, Kyuemon Kiln. There are three types of plates designed by Goukon Fukiko.

The Ainu pattern designed by Ainu craftsman Goukon Fukiko has been rendered on the plate in a pale indigo blue by the Arita ware manufacturer, Kyuemon Kiln, using the blue and white porcelain technique. 
Arita ware, decorated with beautiful traditional Ainu patterns, combines the skills passed down from two regions to create tableware that adds color to modern life.
Fukiko Goukon (Ainu crafts artist) An Ainu crafts artist and singer of Ainu songs. She is well versed in Ainu culture. As part of the sister unit "Kapiw & Apappo," she has performed with many musicians.
Lake Akan is located in eastern Hokkaido. Currently, approximately 120 Ainu people live in Lake Akan Ainu Kotan, and many Ainu craft makers incorporate modern sensibilities and challenge themselves to create new things while cherishing traditions. "AKAN AINU ARTS&CRAETS→NEXT" is a project that conveys the creative activities of Ainu craft artists living in the present day, while preserving the traditions passed down by the Ainu.

Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations
Please note that we cannot accept returns, exchanges, cancellations, changes to your order details, or modifications to your order for customer convenience after the order has been completed.
If, in the unlikely event, the delivered item is defective, please contact us via the inquiry form within 7 days of receiving the item.
In the case of a defective item, we will cover the shipping costs associated with the return.
