This is a donut-shaped "Straw Trivet (Medium)" made from straw produced on Sado Island by "Homma Kazuyu Shoten," a company that has been making traditional bamboo crafts for over 70 years in Sado, Niigata Prefecture. 
Straw crafts have been cultivated in the rice-producing region of Niigata along with the history of rice cultivation. Carrying on this tradition, each piece is hand-woven using koshihikari rice straw harvested on Sado Island. 
Rice straw is wrapped around the core and tightly woven, making this a strong, non-slip trivet. 
It is heat resistant and stable, so it can securely support heavy pots such as cast iron skillets.

It comes with a hanging string, so it doesn't take up much space and can be stored while keeping it dry. 
We have two different sizes available in our store: medium and small. Please take a look. 
Founded in 1950, the company has inherited the traditional bamboo craftsmanship of Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture, and is committed to using domestically produced materials to create hand-woven straw trivets and strainers.

Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations
Please note that we cannot accept returns, exchanges, cancellations, changes to your order details, or modifications to your order for customer convenience after the order has been completed.
If, in the unlikely event, the delivered item is defective, please contact us via the inquiry form within 7 days of receiving the item.
In the case of a defective item, we will cover the shipping costs associated with the return.
