Yamagata casting boasts a history of approximately 900 years. Based in Yamagata Prefecture, Chushin no Kobo offers the traditional beauty of Japanese casting for modern lifestyles. This is the Shin Shiwa trivet.
The smooth cast surface and beautiful geometric shape create a warm atmosphere on the table.
The trivet's legs have rubber caps, making it stable and able to hold hot pots and kettles securely.
Cast iron trivets are a part of Japanese tradition that continues to this day, allowing you to feel the craftsmanship of the artisans. They are everyday items that become more beautiful with use.
In addition to the Shin-Yonami trivets, we also carry the Miwa and Kumi-koshi trivets from Chushin Kobo. Please take a look at them all.
"Chushin no Kobo" is a casting studio designed by Masuda Naoki that proposes the traditional beauty of Japanese casting to modern lifestyles. Traditional crafts are never conservative in nature, but rather are extremely innovative in their time, combining both hard and soft aspects. By incorporating modernity into crafts as everyday tools that enrich people's lives, new traditions are created. Chuushin no Kobo is a creative studio that produces universal designs, focusing on castings inspired by Japanese culture.
