This wooden carved bear, "Kumakko-san," is from the Hokkaido souvenir brand "Koguya," created by the Sapporo select shop "FAbULOUS," with the concept of "Hokkaido scenery in the palm of your hand." 
Yakumo Town in southern Hokkaido is said to be the birthplace of bear carving. Wood-carved bears, which began as a source of income during the farming off-season, have spread as a souvenir representative of Hokkaido and now attract so many people that they have even spawned collectors.
Koguma-ya's original bear carvings are carved with emphasis on the surface, and are wood carvings of bears with a striking expression of slightly bowed heads. The material is old, precious katsura wood, and the carving is done in one stroke to give it a glossy finish. As the name "Koguma-ya" suggests, the carvings are based on the image of a cute, round baby bear.
There are two colors available: wood and black. This is the wood color. 
This one is black. 
The bottom is decorated with the "Koguya" logo.
