Otaru Honey Galette is a traditional French pastry, Galette Bretonne, baked using local ingredients. The thickly baked sable has a crispy, crunchy texture and a fragrant buttery flavor, and is accented with the gentle sweetness of honey. Made with a rich, buttery dough, it is a luxurious piece with a rich flavor and rich taste. 
The packaging features a design of gold leather paper, which is used as wallpaper in the VIP room of the former Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha Otaru Branch, part of Otaru's historical landscape. 
The former Otaru branch of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) has a luxurious appearance that hints at the prosperity of Otaru during the Meiji period. Enjoy the splendor of this extravagant modern building along with a galette. 
The former Nippon Yusen Otaru Branch, with its luxurious appearance, evokes Otaru's prosperity during the Meiji period. Built in October 1906 by Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), it remains a core company of the Mitsubishi Group. As one of Japan's three largest shipping companies, it enjoyed international recognition and remains a leading figure in Japanese shipping. At the time, Otaru served as the base for the nation's Hokkaido development project, expanding its commercial port functions with European connections. At the same time, financial institutions and trading companies expanded into the area, earning it the nickname "Wall Street of the North." Many buildings, showcasing the finest craftsmanship by leading architects, were constructed here. This building symbolizes the heyday of Otaru's development. This two-story stone building in the European Renaissance style features a VIP room with plaster ceilings and chandeliers, crimson curtains, parquet floors, and striking floral carpets. The walls are decorated with gold leather paper with a chrysanthemum crest, which is said to have been extremely difficult to restore. It's an extravagant and luxurious space. Kinkarakawa paper is a traditional Japanese craft that was created based on "kinkarakawa," a leather craft invented in Europe during the Renaissance. When it was exhibited at the Vienna World Exposition, it attracted a lot of attention in Europe and was eventually exported.
