There is a bistro frequented by locals who know about it near the old Temiya Line in Ironai 1-chome, about a 5-minute walk from the Otaru Canal. The name is "Bistrot Blanche. Renovating a retro Western-style brick building from the Taisho era, the bistro serves original dishes that are a fusion of Italian and French cuisine.
The restaurant has a counter with five seats and five tables for four and two people. The spacious and relaxing atmosphere, with pleasant music playing in the background, creates a calm atmosphere in which to enjoy a meal and conversation.
The lunch menu offers a variety of pasta and pizza dishes, as well as fish and meat course menus with drinks starting at around 1,500 yen, which is very reasonable. Dinner courses are also very reasonably priced, starting at around 3,000 yen for a fish course with an appetizer, a meat course, or a double-main course.
Otaru is famous for its sushi and seafood bowls, but for a date or birthday celebration with that special someone, we recommend visiting Otaru and soaking up the unique Otaru atmosphere at Bistrot Blanche. The food is generous in volume, so even the youngest of diners will be fully satisfied.
