PRESSCAFE is located at the northern end of the Otaru Canal, at the foot of the Kitahama Bridge over the Kita Canal, in a corner of the old Shibusawa Warehouse, a historical building constructed in 1895.
While the famous Otaru Canal is only passed by sightseeing cruise ships, the Kita Canal is still an active canal where small vessels such as work boats and cruisers dock, and old stone warehouses stand side by side in the surrounding area.
The wood-frame stone interior of the old Shibusawa warehouse features high ceilings, large windows on the canal side, and classic cars still in service. The menu includes flavorful coffee made with specialty coffee beans and paper drip brewed one cup at a time, as well as a wide selection of pancakes and other sweets. In addition to reasonably priced lunches on weekdays, the most recommended dish is the "North Indian Chicken Curry" made with an original recipe. The spicy, slightly adult soup has an addictive flavor.
