Its official name is "Otaru Confectionary Shop Lutao. It has become so famous nationwide that there is no one who does not know its name. It is one of the must-see attractions when you visit Otaru.
Currently, there are six stores in Otaru with different concepts, each offering a wide variety of limited edition products and exquisite sweets.
Lutao became famous throughout Japan for its milky smooth cheesecake "Douvre Fromage," which was featured on a TV program in 2005 and became a nationwide craze. Nowadays, when people think of Otaru sweets, they think of Lutao.
