The BEST Things to Do in Otaru, Japan｜Otaru Day Trip
A very cute white building with a triangular roof on the right side of the famous Funami Slope, so named because you can see the ships coming and going from the harbour, about 100 metres uphill from the intersection with Route 5 is the omelette and muffin shop Alinkomoudash. There is a parking lot for three cars in front of the shop, so it is safe to come here by car from far away.
It is about 200 metres from JR Otaru Station, which is about a three-minute walk. Upon entering the clean, white-based restaurant, you will find counter seats facing the window and table seats at the back, two tables for two and two tables for four people. Together with the counter seats, there are about 20 seats, but the restaurant is very popular and is often fully booked.
The counter window looks out onto the railway line, and the space is very comfortable, with warm light streaming in and a view of the train passing in front of you. The main menu is very varied, ranging from classic omelette rice to weekly omelette rice and creative omelette rice. The popular homemade muffins, which look cute, vary from day to day, so it's always a pleasure to meet new people. The pudding we had that day had a good firmness and was very tasty, with a firm taste and a subtle eggy flavour. The pudding is also highly recommended.

The shop tells the story of Otaru's prosperity in the pioneering days of Hokkaido and the history of the Kitamaebune, and displays and sells processed seafood and agricultural products from the port of call and Hokkaido, as well as original products by craftsmen and artists associated with Otaru.
