In June 2021, a café newly renovated from an old private house, "Café Labrado Lessens" opened in Okusawa. The unfamiliar name of the store comes from a mysterious stone called "labradorite," which changes its expression like a peacock's feather, such as blue or green, depending on the angle of view, and this brilliance is called "labrador lescence (labrador light). At first glance, the stone appears to be a plain gray stone, but the name of the restaurant is said to reflect the idea of "a light that only those who are willing to look can see.
Entering the restaurant through the sliding door with the curtain lowered, you will find four seats at the counter and two tables for two people on the first floor.
The second floor is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, where you take off your shoes and sit comfortably at three tables. Taking pictures with digital cameras (including smartphones) is prohibited in the restaurant, and only film cameras are allowed.
For drinks, in addition to two types of coffee blended from charcoal-roasted beans, there is an extensive drink menu that even those who do not like coffee can enjoy, including café au lait, hazelnut au lait, Assam tea, and roasted tea soy milk latte. There is also a menu of light meals such as toast and soup, and sweets such as pudding and doughnuts that change daily. This café offers a calm, relaxing, and comfortable atmosphere, giving you a nostalgic sense of warmth.
