"What is this?" I found while walking around Otaru

"Maruyamaru" If you read it from top to bottom it becomes "Maruyamaru", but if you read it from bottom to top it becomes "Maruyaruma". Hmm... it doesn't feel right at all. I wish it would be changed to "Maruyamaru".
