The building is characterized by its large signboard and its exterior resembling a traditional Japanese bathhouse. Otaru Korakuen

A secluded hot spring inn surrounded by a garden.

"Otaru Korakuen" is about a 15-minute drive from Otaru Station. Located in a quiet residential area surrounded by a vast estate, it is a secluded hot spring inn encircled by a rich natural Hokkaido garden. It has 34 guest rooms, 28 of which come with open-air baths. The hot spring uses water from its own source, a simple alkaline spring known for its beautifying effects, leaving your skin smooth.

The interior of the inn is covered with tatami mats, offering a full Japanese ambiance, and it is also known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. The 8,000-tsubo (approx. 2.64 hectares) garden, started by the previous generation in the early Showa period, is surrounded by trees over a hundred years old. In early May, 200 cherry trees bloom in profusion. From late May to June, wisteria trellises and azaleas follow, and in summer, large hydrangeas, hydrangeas, and carefully cultivated roses can also be enjoyed.

"Otaru Onsen Osupa" is a 24-hour hot spring facility located near Otaru Ferry Terminal and Wing Bay Otaru. It is popular among travelers as it also offers nap facilities.

It draws from a rare "strong chloride spring" in Japan, pumped from 750m underground, where you can distinctly taste the saltiness.
